| the 4th base training ride that included an ascent of morrow mountain was a ride of contrasts. dealing with temps well below freezing, kerry h. was a face shrouded thermal wrapped baked potato yet keith tempted frostbite with lightweight knit gloves. then there was, "85 miles doesn't merit an oatmeal cream pie," ryan who remains committed to denying himself opposite my, "must down 1 bottle of amino vital every hour and not a sip less," to combat the hunger knock/muscle meltdown. |

Nice! I tally 4 in this post "death march" summary, is that correct? I couldn't bring myself to show...28 degrees was/is (apparently) my breaking point. Randy and I exchanged about 15 text messages before I came to the conclusion that I wasn't man enough to commit. I rode inside on the rollers....and then by myself Sunday since not a soul showed for the 2pm Sunday Stroll. And it was a balmy 48 degrees at that point, according to the new luxurious fuel station adjacent the Highway Patrol outfit on Hwy 29. They've got a handy external thermometer mounted on the rising-fuel-price-o-matic scoreboard out front.
